First, really consider what gains you want and how much the engine can handle. I've seen them handle up to 25 to 30 hp gains. Not too bad! The intake would need to be port matched for better breathing both through the intake and exhaust ports. It's much like doing it to a chevy. If you want to maximize the breathing, get a valve grind to refit it to a bigger valve seat diameter. That takes a little more money than you would probably would like to spend, but if you don't do these basic things to the head you may not see much of a gain at all. Keeping most of the stock stuff as possible may not be productive either. so consider with a machinist to see what's possible for the head. Most performance exhausts that are sold through the industry are better than others so researching what works will take some foot work. Exhaust gas speed and how many bend will determine efficiency. Again, it's like beefing up an American car. Dig? just shop around, you'll see.

Oh before I forget... you may find that some sensors will need to be modified to another location than stock, so don't freak out about that when you come across that situation. There are more things that I can guide you through but if you're mechanically inclined you won't have too much trouble. Just look at it this way, it's a another car with an engine.
