Does anybody actually DRIVE their car?

I am wondering if anybody actually DRIVES their car.  Anybody can make their car go faster but when it comes down to it,  how many of you actually push your cars to the limit?  When I am on the road I am always looking for the next race.  It is rare to find someone who will drive their car hard, and to the limit on the road.  I have upgraded the suspension brakes and engine on my car and any chance I get, from 75% of red lights I launch it hard.  80% of curves I take hard and I go as fast as I can before braking at the last minute.  Granted I've lost my license 3 or 4 times but thats how it goes.  And anybody can drag race,  especially in an automatic.  When it comes to curves through a river valley with 250 ft drops past the guard  rail, who here pushes it?  Anybody in Lexington KY give me a shout and lets run it!

I love to push my car too. It's a 99 civic I just got in spring so I havn't done a lot to it but it is way faster than my 86 Accord I had. When ever the light turns green I punch it up to the speed limit as fast as I can. There are a few fun curvy roads in my city's river valley and I love down shifting around them, and I love taking it out on the highway and see where the engine tops out at. I live in Alberta Canada so I can only really have fun 6 months out of the year, but in the winter it's fun to practice your drifting on the icy roads.

What generation RX7 is it. There are some cool advances in technology for the rotary engine as of late and getting more ponies out of one is getting easier and easier! The new RENISIS Engine for the RX8 is by far better than the older stuff, even though it may not be as powerful as posted. And there have been advances for that engine as well so power gains aren't an issue any more. Driving hard is fun but if it costs you a car when you lose control, how much fun is it after? I build and race what I make in my shop with my guys... but even if it's purpose built it still hurts when you crash, literally!!

I drive my car very hard, but only on the track.  i think street racing is very stupid and very VERY immature.  the fact that you push your 240 at every light, and drive hard around every turn is just plain stupid.  you risk endangering lives, your car, violations, tickets, and such.  people like you are what make tuners look bad.  even if you dont care for your own life because you want the "adrenaline" you risk others as well.  i dont know about you but i wouldnt want my car that i've spent countless money and labor and care on taken off the streets and put in a crusher in front of my eyes just because i decided to have a "little" rush around the corner.

bottom line, TAKE IT TO THE TRACK KIDDO!

and if you claim you cant afford it, dont spend the money on your next part and put that to a track event, then you'll actually be able to have fun instead of driving on the track with something you cant control cause its got too much...

I know this will be wasted on people unwilling to consider it, but driving fast everywhere on the street is retarded and just endangering people.

I drive my car hard, and have done my share of racing on the street. ( normally in industrial parks, way out from traffic, or a decent run on the highway ). I autocross, dragrace, and road course my car. So it goes through a lot.

Anyways, my car made 420AWHP/460AWTQ last year before some recent mods, and I definitely use it. On the street I mostly drive like a grandma. I enjoy cruises, and like to enjoy the car.

There's a time to take turns fast, there's a time to launch, and on the street 75% of the time, and driving like a f'ing idiot is not one of those times.

I hope you loose your license for good.

Luckily, when I was at the time in my life where I wanted to drive like that, I didn't have anything that could. lol. I drove an 84 Ford Bronco II for my earlier years.

Post the bronco I had a Chevy S10. After a lot of my money in upgrades, it was kinda fast but still sucked as far as handling. I don't really drive like that anymore.

Granted, I don't inch my way along (I can't f-ing stand it when someone acts like the slower they go the happier they get). I don't want to endanger anyone's life or my own. Mostly, I finally have a car that I enjoy driving and I want to keep it that way. I couldn't live with myself if I killed a kid. BTW, my insurance is high enough.

The most I ever do as far as speed and "pushing" the car is when some *** won't let me over when I need to exit so I show him how to hit the high juice.

Not to re-hash what everyone else has said but, slow the f down. You're most likely the reason why insurance is so high for people my age (only 22). Quit killing people and the cops will lay off a car that looks even the least bit quick.

I over looked reading this thread and I find that my cousin was in here as well. He got around. I never lent my rav out to race any where! Yeah, it got into a little fender bender and I had to bang the metal out as well as I could but not because of racing in rally! He got broken ribs because I broke them on him for talking out of his ass in a conversation between my freinds. The things that I have to do!
Any way, I'm with dragonxbreath on this one. Street racing is a waste. It's safer on track. I haven't done it in a while but it is a lot of fun on track.

bs. tracks suck, especially drags. the only good racing is 2 people on a street spur of the moment
