Im buying a 98 eclispe that needs engine work and I want to swap the engine out. I need to know if its possible to switch to lancer,civic,prelude, or what I need some positive feedback.  

I would stay with what would fit the best without the need for fabrication. Unless you have the equipment and know how to swap to another manufactures engine you'll have a heck of a time doing what's needed. I've done a couple of crazy swaps like that and even though it was cool to see a Toyota engine in a Honda, it was a headache to get there. Every thing had to made or needed speacialty parts to get it to fit. Mitsubishi has good, strong engines that you could build up. It's a long shot, but see if you can find an EVO wreck at a junk yard that was not crashed in the front and get the engine and electronics to put in your Eclipse. That is what I would do to get some looks. Picture the name it would have; Eclipse Evolution!! Sounds cool to me!

Awsome!! I've researched this particular swap and there are very few done. You can count them with your fingers, that's how many have been done! You would be in a very small club of monster cars with sheeps clothing! Good luck with the build and have fun with it! Don't let idiots take you from your expectetions!!!

what type of eclipse first of all? rs gs gst gsx? if its the gst or gsx i would suggest the evo 3 6 bolt swap... comes with the Big 16g 550 injectors jdm ecu trans transfercase wireing harrness ect... and youll be going from 210bhp to 276-286 bhp... and the motor and all is around 1500+ shipping... hope that helps you out
