I wonder what excuse Ford has to offer on things like that? I work on them every day and I can't, for the life of me, understand why they put some thing out with so many little flaws. My 2004 Sienna LX had 2 recalls that merrited, in Toyotas mind, a letter. The run flat tires was one letter and protective rust preventative film was the other. I'm sure there were other recalls, but the dealers usually fix those issues on our visits. I haven't had any, ZERO issues, with my Sienna. My Rav4 is another. There was a few recalls, but they all involved creature comfort stuff, like seat belt recoil when you unclicked. Big whoop. I can live with that. I never looked into any of them, because I fixed what ever it needed, which was never. That is until the few items I mentioned failed. LOL!

The only reason i bought the damned thing was for the snow, and to haul parts and other things. Speakin on toyotas, my dad has had a 1999 4runner for close to ten years, bought it in 2001. The only thing hes replaced is the front bumper and the drive shaft, other than normal maintenance fluids bulbs belts etc. The bumper because he slid off the interstate and took out ten of the little plastic poles. The drive shaft im not sure of, i moved out b4 that happened. And just to throw this out there, the trucks got over 450k miles on it. Its a delivery/work/hauling/pleasure/etc. vehicle.

toyota trucks. my dad had a 80's toyota truck and that thing wow what at beast they will just take and take and take the abuse my friend flipped his tundra a couple times and its still going strong. and the engines just cant be killed no matter how many Kms it has. (id like to turbo a toyota truck and see how many pounds of boost it takes to kill it, if anyone is to actually do it ill bet a toyota truck engine will take 14pounds. of course talking about stock internals no other mods but turbo) LOL

speakin of turbo. My friend bought a 90 240sx. He took it for a ride, SR20DET swap with a T3 turbo. Poped the hood and the headers were actualy glowing orange! We got it home and when we pulled in to the driveway he blew the head gasket. Guy before him had it cranked to 19 lbs!

I visited the speed shop in New Haven, Ct. that I've been talking about from time to time. They were closed, but I got to see one of the projects through one of the garage windows. It was a early to mid 80s Corolla, 1.8l style with a Tocoma engine in it. It was all built with a fairly nice sized turbo. The guy who told me about the shop said that the head on this project is an original design that is patented through this shop. I was impressed, to say the least. I'll visit again when the place is open so that i can give you more info on the car. The thing is in mint condition!

And your point is? I don't mean to sound sarcastic or any thing, but no one said any thing negative about the present subject. You must have read the first post and didn't bother to check the last post to see where the conversation has gone. all the threads on this forum take a life of their own and stray a little from the original concern/topic. W all seem to give practicle answers to every ones curiosity. It's all good, bro. All vehicle makes are welcome and no one will be scrutinized for their choice of vehicle, albeit, some choices are not as common as most. In short, every one has their own taste and no one will be bothered by their choice of car to tune. Hey Shane, it's a 4 banger Tocoma engine, but yeah, it's some thing like that. LOL!
