Thinking of trading in my 2006 Civic Si for a 2007 Lexus IS350...

Any opinions?

Right now my Civic is paid off and I don't need to worry about monthly payments, and my insurance is relatively low. I like have a two door car that gets good mileage. The navigation has never steered me wrong, the car has never given mr problems, and I love everything about it except one thing. It's not a Lexus.

I actually have several reasons for wanting the lexus, but I'm worried about a couple things. Lexus has incredibly high reliability ratings, so I'm not worried about that, and I'll be upgrading from a 200hp 140tq FF sport compact coupe to a 300hp, 330tq FR spory luxury sedan, which is awesome. The price is a bit of a problem, but I'll be looking at payments of about $290/mo for 60 months as opposed to my $0/mo right now.

What should I do?

Get a loan from the bank for $290/month and keep your SI and turn it into a full Spoon-spec car with all the borrowed money! You will basically have a Type-R! You will be uber cool, like a Takumi cool, except in the Honda worldz! lmao haha

But really I don't know, thats a tough choice.. IS350 is a nice car.

What about a new G37? Not sure how much those will go for, or even how much the IS350s go for currently, but the new G sure looks amazing.

Also, your insurance will probably double if not more with a car of that caliber..

BUT HOW ABOUT THIS: Forget about the Lexux and get a Bimmmer! (insert borats sarcastic NAAAAAAWWT!!) Haha, your ass will be in the dealer lounge  sipping expresso and looking at the milfs more then you will drive your car if you get a bimmer! "Ultimate driving machine" is true, but only when you are driving!!

But seriously I don't know man.. I am at a different stage, a different mindset with cars right now then you are, and I can't give you any advice except steer you to my viewpoint haha... For example, right now I am selling my nice bimmer and getting an older miata.. I am gonna turn it into a canyon terror and fun track day car that I will daily drive. (Sparco sprints, rollcage. I know..haha but *** it, Im young! haha!

So ya, no good advice to you from me haha. The spoon build was the first thing in my mind, and you can see why.

But good luck. Have fun

I would do it, as long as you have the means to pay it, I would do it. But that is comming from someone who LOVES the cars and thinks that they have the most confertable seats in the world. But if it wouldn't like put you in debt or anything, I would do it.

Thanks for the advice guys!

I've also been looking into the new G37. It's got a couple competitive edges over the IS, but a few downfalls as well.
