I just recently bought a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer GTS which is basically the low grade Evo but I was wonder what I should buy to make it a fortified Evo basically ...so if anyone can help me it would be very helpfull.  

I wouldn't really call a GTS a low grade Evo. From what I understand, the GTS comes with a CVT, about 150hp, or if you live in California, or any other place that requires that cars meet PZEV emissions, 140hp.

The car itself is great for how much you pay, since you're getting paddle shifters, and a bunch of toys that are incoporated into the audio system, but I wouldn't really focus on trying to make a GTS into an Evolution. If I were you, I'd trade up once the Evos become more readily available. You'll be spending alot more trying to make your Lancer into an Evo than it costs to just trade in for one.

A couple key reasons I would upgrade are the fact that your car is running on a CVT, while the Evo's will be running with SST. Don't get me wrong, CVT is awesome at optimizing performance throughout the powerband and getting good fuel economy, but it just doesn't compare to the race oriented SST design. Also, you'll be doubling your horsepower by upgrading to the Evo, and if I'm not mistaken, the Evo's have better brakes, suspension, body styling, and Super Handling All Whee Drive.

I've seen people try to make their base Civic into Si's, and Impreza owners attempt to make their cars into STi's and it's WAY more work than it's worth. If your car shared more of the same component, then it would be much easier to do, but that's not the case.  

see the only reason that i got the 08 lancer is because its a *** load cheaper and cuz i'm only 18 so insurance on a evo would be so much money that it ain't even funny ... also i'm in the military and i got a huge sign on bonus so i could make my lancer an evo for the same price or cheaper and the insurance wouldn't be bad at all.... i just need to know like the exaust, turbo, and so on that i would need to make it a fast ass car...  

you should have waited, lancer ralliart is a go for mitsubishi so it should be coming out shortly afetr the evo probably, (if youre ok with waiting maybe 8 months)....but anyway, its gonna be awd 2something hp, and idk the rest but that is supposed to be what a Low grade Evo is. The 08 gts is just a  much better version of the previous lancers. its still pretty cool especially for all the features it has and the price.  

oh and another thing....im starting to think that people are over rating the evo x's transmission system. personally i obviously havent tested one, and ik its supposed to be good, but every single magazine say's it's amazing and stuff. so is it realllly that good, or is everyone just over hyped about it?  

I think the reason they're hyping the new tranny is because the old one had a reputation for taking a *** on people all the time. :P
