Hi,
I've read about different kinds of turbo and superchargers, I'm aware of the different makes and models plus who manufactures them, what my question is do they work with automatic and four wheel drive vehicles or are they're just strictly for manual drive vehicles only ?
I own a Mazda 6 2006 edition and I was planning on having a turbo kit installed on my vehicle in the near future and I would like to have an expert opinion on what kit to buy and what the modifications are required....,
Can anyone shed some light on this subject ????

While the most popular cars these days are turbocharged and all wheel drive, it dosn't mean a turbo can only be installed on that layout of vehicle. They can be installed on anything, domestics, imports, fwd, awd, rwd, scooters, motorcycles, tractors, ect. ect. Manual or automatic vehicles both can be equipped with turbochargers, but the manual tranny ones are alot more fun to drive.
I have to burst your bubble, but I dont think installing a turbocharger on that vehicle is the choice your going to want to make. First off, it's an 06, so I'm assuming it still has a warranty. Well, putting much more of anything besides exahust or intake modification, and you can kiss that goodbye.
Turbochargers are sweet, but installing one on a brand new car that came NA is a surefire way to end up with a brand new car that is broke the majority of the time. In a nutshell, you can't really take advantage of a turbocharger on a naturaly aspirated engine without pulling out the engine internals (which are probably crappy cast pistons which are too high of a compression for boost, and popcicle stick rods, which can't take much boost without flying out the block). This is going to add up quick. Also, your stock exahust will not work with a turbo, your going to have to have a custom 2.5 - 3" exahust for your car.
Pretty much, your going to have a big, new, expensive mess, that you have no idea how to put together unless you have some jack-leg hack mechanic charge you another arm or leg to fix/install whatever breaks.
What I would do is keep your Mazda stock, the way it is. Drive it around, and be stoked, you have a new daily driver. Save up a little, and buy a vehicle with a factory turbocharger (ie, Toyota Supra, Eagle Talon, Mitsubishi Eclipse, Toyota MR2, ect.) Those vehicles, depending on what year, arent THAT expensive, and all come with factory turbochargers, which at that point, will be easy to start from and make power. You could even keep your Mazda and have another one of those cars as a weekend car.
Just my opinion.

Thanks for that bit of advice I may just well keep my car stoked for the time being I just needed that bit of info before I create a huge expensive mess for my car, I remember reading the auto consumer reports on the Mazda 6 can't remember which book it was but any who I was reading about the M6 and from the information I gathered these things are already turbo charged so I can assume those chargers are factory made, I'm not sure about the one I have presently because it's a four cylinder vehicle but if it has a stock charger then I won't have too much to worry about..., come to think of it I need to brush up reading my manual for my car.
And as for saving up and getting me another car that has a turbo charger.., well I wish that was easy considering we already have enough cars in our drive way,, there's my parents Toyota Camry, my Dad's maxima, my brother's olds moble, and my Mazda 6.
Seriously doubt any of them are going to give up there cars for me to bring in another one [lol]
But I'll just stick with one vehicle for now.., again thanks for that bit of info.

i know your not talking to me but ill tell you: a mazda dealer should carry all stock parts and if they dont just got to mazda's website and order it online. stock is some thing the maker of the car puts on it before they sell it.

Mazda may be able to get you a turbocharger meant for another vehicle they sell which is turbocharged from the factory, but for the price you'll spend, you could buy a giant turbo from another aftermarket company, so it's pointless.
"Stock" is the way the vehicle comes from the factory. Factory air box, factory exahust, factory engine internals, ect. ect.

do you mean you have a "Mazdaspeed edition??? in this case, yes, you would have a stock turbo. if you had it, i think you would notice the additional 144 hp gain over the non-Mazdaspeed 6's.
there sure is alot more to think about when planning to turbo a car than just the turbo. such as: new filter turbo manifold bov wastegate 2.5 or 3 inch exhaust bigger injectors higher capacity fuel pump fmu or standalone intercooler related IC piping this sure isnt everything but i dont want to type anymore.

I emailed the Mazda dealership the other day and according to her there is no stock turbo kit for the Mazda 6 availabe at this time, she also informed me as some of you have pointed out that Mazda is against any aftermarket parts that could void the warrenty of any Mazda vehicle such as mine..., I really appreciate everyone's input though.
And Blakeaustinusn..., to answer your question on wheather my car is a Mazdaspeed 6 or just a Mazda 6...,
It's just a Mazda 6.

yeah i dont know what you would have to do to make the mazdaspeed turbo work on a regular mazda 6, or if it is even possible. not worth the time or money you would spent anyways.
