I have a 1996 S14 base, it is completely stock and I would like to change that. I want to start from the bottom and work my way up starting with suspension and brakes. It is a 4 spoke but it has aftermarket rims that can take any configuration, is it a good idea to get a 5 spoke brake set instead of 4? or is that bad juju?

If you have any suggestions for suspension and brake upgrade kits or brands I would be appreciative. I am a college student so it cant be insane, I want the car to be a sleeper and occasionally take it to the track so it doesnt have to be track pro, it has to be something drivable on the street everyday. Just something that works well, is reliable, not expensive and doesn't drop the car to the ground and make it obviously a tuner.

When you say four spoke, you mean 4 lug? when I hear spokes I think of rims. Im not sure exactly what you mean, but rotors that were made for 5 lugs will not fit on a 4 lug configuration, unless you were talking about swaping out your whole hub assembly..etc.

Open up a Super Street Issue or search on the site, there are tons and tons of s14 articles that can guide you through all your modification choices.
