K.. Im looking at picking up a new car.. i currently drive an 04 eclipse gs with minor mods to it and have decided modding an eclipse isnt worth the money and time.. I like my car.. but in order to make decent power i would need to dump a fair amount of cash into the car.. seems to be more then average if im correct..

My goal is to hit between 250-300whp N/A.  In saying that.. a buddy of mine just picked up a 93 prelude vtec and droped 2200 bux into the *** thing and pulled 293hp on it on the dyno.. i was quite surprised..

Im looking at somthing in the year range of 200+ and would like to keep the car a daily drive with balls.. its somthing that will likely be driven year round and so on..

Ive been thinking of a 2001 prelude.. from my understanding the honda/acura's are extremly easy to do up and are very cost effective.. from what i see with all the honda's driving around these days it seems to be that is correct.

Im sorry if there has been another topic about this in the past.. but it seems my questions are kinda specific.. also .. im in canada so im limited to what i can own.. ( i would love to own an EVO VIII but laws wont allow me to)  any sudgestions would be greatly appreciated..  this will be a car i eventually toss a turbo into so i would like somthing decent.. my eye is on the prelude.. but also ive been looking at the Audi A4 1.8T..

Thanks

93 prelude vtec and droped 2200 bux into the *** thing and pulled 293hp on it on the dyno.... Turboed?

If you are looking at Honda/Acura - you could slap a decent size turbo on almost an vtec engine and achieve 250 whp.

A 1.8t would be (as far as achieving hp) an easier setup as it comes from the factory already turboed.

im really undecided.. i went and took a 07 eclipse gt out for a test drive today.. i liked it a lot.. just dunno if i wanna spend the money on another eclipse ..

what do you know about the cobalt ss (supercharge) .. they seem kind of apealing.. and well.. they are supercharged.. 200hp factory.. not terrible i suppose.. what are the aftermarket parts like?

i would like to keep it N/A.. i have an eclipse right now and if i wanted to do turbo i would likely drop one on my car..

also looking at an rsx and a new Si

i don’t know much on the cobalt ss, but it seems like a decent platform to start with, like you said 200hp supercharged.

I know a couple people driving around in new Si's they love em.  I am very partial to the Si and rsx-s engine (if you couldn’t tell by my screen name) its a very strong engine that responds very well to mods.
