so we see a lot of these threads, but im looking for a fresh idea. i got about 8k to work with for the car itself, and for parts, well, it all depends on the car so we'll just say a reasonable build for now. thought i was set on an integra Ls, seem hard to find one with lower miles on it though around here. wish honda had an equal to it, but the EX i view as lesser, and the Si is too much. the hatches are kind of weak, and i dont want to do a swap. atleast not soon, which is the only way i think to make them pretty sweet.
finding a 240sx, manual and under 150k miles on it that doesnt have an SR20 in it already is as rare as the Browns having a winning season. cavies and neons are out of the question.
do you think an EX would be alright, or would be disappointed with it? could i find performance cams for it? any other car ive overlooked?
oh, the celica i suppose. however, they seem kind of weak unless its an all-trac which ill neverr find. i do like the style with the 4 headlights though. aftermarket seems lacking for the older ones, and the newer ones are more money i think.

dude im in the same spot... but i dont believe youd be dissapointed in the ex... i dont want it cause of how common they are... but ya you could get cams for it... check out the options just on this site... whitch is lijit... http://www.modacar.com/products/Honda/Civic/MODACAS/camshafts.html
you should be happy with the options... and dont ignore the stage 3 turbo kits from revhard....

The ex can be a good platform since it is light. With a good motor swap

ok, maybe i will look into an EX. im not totally against an engine swap, just wont do one for a while. i could do suspension first (which is what i wanted to do anyway) maybe to some stuff to the engine, especially if the parts would be interchangeable, though that doesnt matter really.
maybe ill find a teg, but i only have a few months left, since i would like to get it before winter (wanted it before august but meh). im sure i can find an EX though.
just wondering, how much is a K series swap total? a B series is a few grand from password jdm...

probably out of a type-s. that'd be a K20a2 correct?
actually a teg just popped up, maybe ill pick it up.
whats nice about my job (E checking cars haha) is i get to sort of test drive about 100 cars a day. no tegs yet, and just one civic. got a 91 240 today though, and last week a mustang cobra. not my style of cars but hey, for a first day it beats the smelly Luminas i usually get.
