I am getting a car and dont know which one to choose. I have a limit of $18,000, so my choices are getting a new scion tC or a used integra from someone that has about 3000 miles on it and was barely driven. Basically the integra is in real good condition...
I'm planning on adding a turbo kit, intercooler, and an intake. Also, im looking for which one would be faster or better in general with the items added on them above ^^^. So what do ya'll think, which one should I get?!?!?!
Acura Integra or Scion tC

I do not have to much expereice with the Scion 160hp - 9.6 compression ratio - I dont know how well these engines respond to f.i, but Im thinking that, if you care about performance, the GSR would be the way to go.

Oddly enough, I have both cars in my garage. As far as things go, I've only modded the tC so far though (should be able to see it with my profile). As far as I know, the aftermarket support is more robust for the Integra because it has been around longer. Aside from that, I couldn't tell you a thing about what can be done to an Integra. If you plan on going all race, you're probably better off with the Integra as a starting platform because it is roughly 400lbs less in terms of curb weight. However, the tC is pretty fun, and is fairly easy to work on.
Regarding the TRD supercharger that was mentioned before, I helped a friend of mine install theirs and he seems very happy with it. One thing I had heard though was the seals on the SC aren't of the best quality, so if possible, prior to install, replace them with better seals.
The best way to determine which way to go would probably be to figure out what you are looking for in terms of your modding. I try to go for balance, with a bit more low key approach. A buddy of mine, also with a tC, has the Turbonetics kit, and is in the process of getting pistons, bearings, and rods put in, along with a standalone Hydra ECU. He expects to dyno at about 350 to 400 by the end of the summer. He wants to go fast, I want balance. He'll be able to hang in there with Evo's and STi's, I can turn heads at shows, walk on 70% of the mildly modded cars out there, and go on the internet with my car
All show and no go can leave you feeling empty. All go and no show can leave you feeling embarrassed.
