So I have a 98' Ford Contour, and that's all I have to work with right now. So the stock engine is a zyrtec 2.0 and I think they offer a Ford SVT Engine swap out which has base 285 hp, and I can add superchargers too that, but anybody have any other recommendations to how I can make a contour street worthy in terms of racing?

how much hp does the non svt engine have? How much is the svt engine? My friends dad had a svt contour, it was a cool little car.

Performance Figures: The SVT Contour accelerates from a standstill to 60 mph in 7.9 seconds. The quarter-mile is covered in 15.7 seconds with a speed of 88 mph. In closed-course testing, the SVT Contour achieves a top speed of 143 mph.

I was wrong..its 185 hp, not 285..haha. Anyway I need to know what I can do to get the top speed up from 143, (how much will superchargers add?) I would really like to make this thing get and go without getting a new car. And another correction: the stock engine is the Zetec 2.0 Liter VGT series.

In order to go faster you have to have the power to overcome opposing forces and the gears that will allow you to reach those speed; those are the two main things, but there are many other things to consider.
