k i know a lot was said about this topic last year but I'm new to the whole show off your car deal and I'm honestly curious about sponsorships and would really like more info so feel free to offer criticism and or support because i think my car would be a unique one for a sponsorship you know a change of pace from all the imports

yeah, generally a sponsored car is going to be one that a lot of people have an interest in, aka a popular car at the time. No matter how much the car means to u personally, unless there is something spectacular done your 92 grand prix that is going to draw a ton of attention there is not going to be much interest in sponsoring your ride.
my two cents

Woah!! And I thought I had a difficult time with my Saturn. You have quite a few things going against you. You have to look at it from the manufacturers eyes. How would giving you free products benefit the company? There are probably a few companies out there that would hook you up with something but the question is what would they be able to give you? It would definitely have to be something universal because I don't think there are many companies that make specific products for your vehicle.
If you do find a company that makes a product that you want you still have to think about how you can make yourself valuable to the company. Also, is what they may ask of you in return worth the value of the product you are to receive in your opinion.
Advertisement is expensive and you don't want to put four 2 foot advertising banners on your car just to get a product worth $100. It may be worth it just to build you car without sponsorship and save yourself the many headaches that come hand and hand with sponsorships. In addition, once you complete your car you will have more respect from yourself and also earn more respect from others due to the fact that you did it on your own without any outside help. That's one of the reasons that I'm so proud of my car.
Best of luck.

I know it's hard to break into the sponsorship scene, like getting your first credit card. We are looking to provide possible sponsorship to serious people as enthusiastic about this sport as us. Send me an email with some pics of your car and we can show you our program. adamzatko@sngperformance.com
