hey wats up bro. man i hope u hav alot of money cuz this swap aint cheap?? first u have to find a decent un-molested RB which will run ya anywhere of $3000-$4500 for motor and trans, then u hav to buy a cross-member kit for the rb to fit cuz the 240 one wont clear the rb trans, modd the oil pan on the rb trans, custom drive shaft, ur entire drivetrain has to be swapped out cuz skylines are awd, new ecu, all the wiring, lots of welding and fab., a rear-end to fit the rb trans, and prolly a reinforcement cuz the 240 is unibody most likely twist&flex with all the extra hp. so there ya hav it, you're lookin at $10,000-$15,000 for just the swap and give or take couple thousand for other upgrades like clutch, lsd, fuel system, gaskets, intercooler, and other little shizznits. here's a site that i recomend u hit up www.nicoclub.com, and the nissan fourms as they go in detail of what u need...peace out

I'm looking to purchase a 98 eclipse. Looking forward to putting in a better turbo on that 4g63t but I heard that the bottom end is weak if I'm trying to get into the 350 to 450hp range. I need some guidance on how to go on the setup and how to toughen up the bottom end to handle the extra boost. Also since I'm doing turbo how would it affect my ride if it's FWD? I might end up getting a AWD if the FWD setup doesn't work out.

ok go to tokyomotorimports.com get the contact number. they are about 3200.00 including shipping, it's about 2900.oo for engine and transmission it comes with a/c compressor, and about 500.00 for shipping but they will ship it to your front door and you can do whatever you want what you wanna do is tell the you want the rb26dett engine and an rb(25) make sure its the rb25 5-speed transmission because the rb26 transmission is all wheel drive unless you wanna convert the 240sx to allwheel drive, the easiest way is the rb25 transmission with the rb26 engine it drops right in the 240, thats what i did to mine the only thing you have to do is get your driveshaft fitted, well i hope that helps, if you need to know anything else you can email me at pyro86rr@yahoo.com or give me a call at 941-429-4140

It won't be easy but not impossible to do. The good thing is that other people have done this swap on this particular model that you have. There is plenty of reference material to look through. Try going to the 240 forums and gather as much info and related stuff that you can find. It has been a popular swap so there won't be a lack of input from others. So far, there's been a good response here. Shop, shop, shop baby! I mean, shop around some before getting crazy with parts. A cheap deal on parts isn't necesarily a good deal. You get what you pay for. Good luck.
