I just recently decided to start working on my Civic. I hadn't done anything to it bc I was planning on getting a BMW but I can't afford one. As of right now I need to find the best exhaust kit for my car, I prefer Skunk2 but I'm open to whatever gives me the most power. Money isn't much of an issue so shoot!

Also I need help with the governor's, I hear it will give me a bit of a boost. And another thing is it better to go turbo or N/A? The recent issue confused me on the direction I wanna go with my Civic so please your opinion is golden. I wanna buil this car from scratch so anything will help.

Thanks!!

Well you are on track, start off with intake and exhaust and work your way to the motor.  You should get 5-15 HP with just intake and exhaust done right.

To answer your question on Turbo or NA, it depends.  It is easier and cheaper to go turbo over NA.  A turbo will have some lag, depends on how high the boost is set.  A NA motor screams in the higher RPM's, and the throttle response is amazing.  Another point, the higher the HP goal the more it will cost to go NA vs. Turbo.

I myself am putting a turbo kit together for my 94' Integra, just becuase I love watching the boost gauge move, and the Blow off value sound.

I would be looking into a Tanabe exhaust, ive been liking the way they sound for a while,  but im running a Thermal exhaust(top quality/basic exhaust sound).
AEM intakes are great quality as well.

Turbo provides the most impressive power/torque numbers and will be the most streetable application if you keep your whp around/below 300whp.

a 200-250whp NA car is hard to come by but has great throttle response(turbo lag is a lil different) but isnt as easy to drive as a turbo vtec car, and it takes alot of engine building/tedious planning/money.

you can build a 250-300whp/200-240wtq turbo car on a stock block and will be very driveable, but it takes alot of research to get the right parts/money as well.

Borla also would be a brand to consider when it comes to a good exhaust

If I were you, I would re-enforce the lower end of the engine so the Hulk couldn't get through it, if you put on a turbo right now, you might as well call your ride a car bomb, stock parts can't handle the forced induction of a turbocharger or supercharger, my advice is go halfway NA and then put in a big turbo, I do love watching the turbo gauge, my girlfriend can't even give me a hard on like that boost gauge!
