Isn't the Honda City Turbo the car in Gran Turismo 4 that makes like 65hp stock? Chrysler also has "Employee discount" insentives? I haven't seen the commercials.

i don't know why it says that, i guess i'm so smart that i'm form the future or something, lol. yeah that is the car, and yes it does make 65hp but that was the turbo 1 from 1981-1983 in 1984 they came out with the turbo 2 and that had a new motor with fuel injection and made 108hp. for that time it made good power, i mean look at the nissan sentura of 1994 it only made 110 hp. they stopped making them in 1987, but stock they could run the 1/4 in high 14's and i think thats pretty dang good. here is a review of them:
Honda City Turbo II 1984 model
March 2, 2005. 12:00 PM    By Danny

Source of information: www.autospeed.com

THE Honda City Turbo II was one of the quickest, most enjoyable machines you could buy when it was launched in 1984 at a low price. We are not giving it any concessions because it’s only a small engine front-wheel drive hatchback. This little hatch had the performance to take on a Mazda 323 Familia Turbo, Ford Laser S Turbo, Mitsubishi Cordia Turbo and Toyota Celica ST.

Let’s take a look at its stats. At around 730kg, the City Turbo II matches the Daihatsu Charade turbo that was released in 1984. The big difference was that the Turbo II had a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine producing 108hp while the Charade had just 68hp! Under its stubby little bonnet, the City Turbo II used an ER-series 1.2-litre transverse alloy four-pot with a SOHC, eight-valve head. The City Turbo also came with multi-point fuel injection featuring Honda’s intriguing CVCC system. The advantages of this system were improved emissions, fuel efficiency and reduced chance of detonation.

With its low static compression ratio, considerable boost pressure and a very long stroke, the City II was tremendously torquey at all revs and its small turbocharger came on instantly and quite smoothly. In some instances, you could hear the turbo ‘boosting’ from barely over 1000rpm. The City Turbo II’s massive mid-range grunt made it a real pleasure to point and go. Unlike the Charade Turbo, there was no need to push the revs. Not surprisingly, peak torque (160Nm) was attained at a relatively low 3000rpm.

The standard three-speed auto allowed for quick sprints of less than 12 seconds and the manual was even quicker. The City Turbo II rides on a strut front and IRS rear with a sway bar bolted to each end; ride, however, is pretty average. The ventilated front discs and callipers are apparently the same as those found on 1984 Honda Preludes, while the rear brakes are stock drums.

Inside, it is surprisingly comfortable, with standard sports seats offering a very liveable combination of firmness and support. Standard features include a manual sunroof with removable trim blind, remote mirrors, a thick-rimmed three-spoke steering wheel, and a digital dashboard (later models had conventional dial instrumentation).

There’s good head and legroom up front and width is reasonable given the size of car, but rear passenger space is – as you’d expect – fairly limited. The Turbo II got a ‘power bulge’ bonnet, a sports front 'bar and a great looking set of flared wheel arches. These details give the tall and stubby City II a tough look from the front, but the rear-end looks nothing special. Standard wheels were 13x5 alloys wearing 185/60 rubbers: however, most owners would have upgraded them by now, 20 years later.

The first generation City Turbo, retrospectively called City Turbo I, was manufactured between 1981 and 1983. The Turbo II continued the line until it was discontinued in 1987. Interestingly, the City Turbo was produced in limited numbers as a cabriolet, making it very rare and desirable today. From all accounts, it’s easy to get a City Turbo running in the high-14s across the quarter mile; its light weight is a wonderful thing!

To keep the car running is not a problem as engines and gearboxes can be found at most junkyards, but supply is very rapidly drying up. Interior and exterior trim parts could be a problem. Gearbox strength also remains a question so check carefully when testing a used unit. Trim should last but discoloration in the plastics can occur and this can be a real pain. Its tall MPV look is the rave these days and owners might not be inclined to sell. We found one in the classifieds for RM$12,000. If you ask me this is too much to pay for unless it is a cabrio.

Both Ford and Chrysler have employee discount programs. Chrysler's is called "Employee Discount Pricing Plus" and has extra incentives on some models, while Ford's is called the "Ford Family Plan." Of course, none of the discounts apply to sports models or heavy-duty trucks/vans.

Either something's screwy with SuperStreet's message board sever or my computer is caught in some kind of rift in the space/time continuum, because it says I registered in 2012!

Negative, sir. The SRT-4, regular Neon, and their engines were all built by Chrysler.

lol, it always been like this, the owners of new american cars hate imports becuase they make better race cars than their overpriced pos.

lol, yeah an rsx-s is SUCH a better buy at $24K than a new mustang GT at $25K

i like old americanc ars, the real muscle cars, and no a 10 year old mustang doesnt count. if we all loved just imports no one will buy dumbestics (domestics). dont underestimate any car untill you look under teh hood. i have a video of civic hatch beating the *** out of a new hooked up viper.

yeah, i've seen that one.  for every 1 fast hatch there is 100 v8 irons that will stomp on everything else.

now lets be honest, which two car models are known to be constantly close to the 1000 WHP if not more? only 2,
Skyline GTR with RB26 and Supra with a 2JZ.

perhaps you've never heard of the 5.0 or the chebby small block??? how about equal power levels at half the price than any too jay zee buildup

Quote:

why do you think they stopped making the supra here? beacuase they realised no one will buy a 50k vette that a cheap supra can beat and be far more reliable and hold its value.

this completely makes no sense.  care to rephrase?  so you mean to say that they stopped selling the supra here because VETTE sales were slow???  dude, they stopped selling the SUPRA because SUPRA sales were slow.  they were priced far too high at the end of their run.  they were expensive to insure.  there's a million reasons why toyota pulled the car out of the market, but corvette sales being slow isn't one of them.  last i checked corvettes are still being made and selling oh quite well.

yeah, so anyway

You wanna know why I street race? When I was young, my dad used to race. Me and him built a 10 second car. I'm scared of it. But now, I live my life a quarter mile at a time. It doesn't matter if I win by an inch or a mile. Winning is winning. I have nitrous sytem that can blow the floor panels off if I run it to hard. But, they will magically reappear if someone needs to sit in my car. So, you think you can beat ME? With about 30 grand, if you overnight some parts from Japan, you might be able to salvage something. But, keep it on the low. Cuz I AIN'T NEVA NARK ON NOBODY!!! I AIN'T NEVA NARK ON NOBODY!!

hey if you guys think that stuff is bad, i currently live in belgium due to a military deployment and the peeps over here are crazy with tuning...crazy as in mentally ill. They ALL have hatchbacks not that there is anything wrong with them but everyone does...its funny too cause its like they just work on features and no performance and then try to go race I went to one racing spot with my friend who has an r33 (I know its below him to go there but trust me this is ALL they have...its a little frustrating to not open up a r33 against anyone after a while ya know) anyway that was the last time i went i was embarassed for my friend who went. I wish he would stop, the bastard.I almost fell asleep in the middle of races, they had kids with balloons running alongside the cars racing, not really but you got the point. the car shows are all ill formed gatherings where there are judges and people just parked randomly. germany though WOW i pissed my pants when i went there it was so cool, it was in stuttgart germany, home of the porsche and thats what they had never was a big fan but i am now they are perrty. but i love all cars from gremlins and rios to XBs and H2s why bash another car? I think it is more a hate for countries than manufacturers i drive a sable and ride my nissans its when you mix things up that you get the full feel of the car scene rather than just imports, ricers, beaters etc etc

this is where you show your ignorance.  the talon, eclipse, and laser were all made by a joint venture between mitsubishi and chrysler.  so it was not copied.  it was made by mitsu and chrysler, they both came together to build the three cars.  your shortsightedness is what made you believe that.  sorry, but you are wrong.

Are you fuking serious? You are a moron, get off of car message boards, and go back to playing Pokemon, you tool. The Eagle Talon/Mitsubishi Eclipse/Plymouth Laser are THE EXACT SAME CAR WITH DIFFERENT BADGING, you uneducated ricer trash. Jesus, I hope your joking. Chrysler owned a stake in Mitsubishi, and they formed a joint corperation in the late 80's called Diamond Star Motors. You clearly are a dumb ricer.

great comeback buddy.  you know more about tuning than both of us combined?  that's funny.  if you did, then you would have known the widely known fact that the eclipse talon and laser are the same car made in a joint venture by chrysler corp.  and mitsubishi.  same with the 3000gt and the dodge stealth.  but then again, you are so smart and great with tuning you don't need to know things like that.  that's right, all i have built is muscle.  yeah, like how i didn't build a 450 hp 300zx.  yeah, i never did that, i never helped a friend build up his supra, or another guy build his 240.  no, i have no knowledge as to what it takes to tune an import.  nope, all i work on is muscle, even though i haven't touched a american muscle car in five years.  sure, all you know more of is how to talk shite.  and trying to state wrong information, and then getting pissed when we tell you you are wrong only makes you look stupider.  while your at it, learn to type in complete sentances, and use some correct grammar, so that someone will at least think you might be educated beyond what your friends and the video games tell you.  fukin *** bag.
