Hey all, just joined the forums and I want to know everyones oppinions. Currently my dad has a 2001 Ford Mustang 5-speed manual stock everything, about 80k miles. Also he has a 1992 Lexus Sc400 (Or Toyota Soarer, however you know it) with a 4-speed automatic, about 190k miles, but alot of the engine has been replaced, fully stock. When i get my liscence i get a choice of the two cars. Im leaning toward the Mustang because if something breaks in that it doesnt cost a ton of money like the lexus would, and it has more up to date parts. The Lexus has a 4 Liter V8 and the Mustang has a 3 Liter V6 (I think) Just want to know what everyone thinks and some of the pros and cons of each, thanks.

Well, the mustang would probably be the better choice considering its newer with lower miles and is faster. But personally I would take the SC over it any day. The SC is deffinately a sexier car. Those cars can look bad as *** with a small wing, body kit, and some wide rims. ANd if you're after speed, a 2JZ swap is pretty easy on them also.

Mustang all the way! It's bitchin'.

Seriously, the two are very separate cars, and you really cant compare the two, outside of them being mid-priced coupes.

On one end of the spectrum you have the roaring muscle car with a 5-speed manual for gearheads, and on the other end you've got a refined, understated luxury coupe with a smooth and convenient automatic tranny. I know which one I'd choose. But really, unless I'm you, I have absolutley no idea how you would decide.

I would take the Lexus except for the fact that its automatic, not to fun to drive, go for the Mustang

take the mustang, its a 5-speed....and rear wheel drive, its slow with the V8, let alone the six-cyl, but you can fix that.
