My friend is looking for his first tuner. He wants a mitsubishi eclipse gsx, but i told him about the eagle talon tsi. Their basicaly the same but, he wants to put aftermarket headlights and taillights. But no one sells any for the talon. I was wondering if parts such as head lights and taillights from an eclipse would fit on a talon?

Dude, really.  Besides Kubo who drives a Talon?  Tell your freind to just stick with the GSX.  It has more aftermarket parts for it and its name doesn't sound awkward.  It's just beter all around when they are put next to each other.  Except for maybe gas mileage, but that's just for *** so yeah.  Why do you favor the Talon?

Who drives a Talon? I've owned four total, along with one Plymouth Laser RS Turbo AWD. The Eagle Talon, Mitsubishi Eclipse, and Plymouth Laser are the EXACT SAME CAR. With the first gens it's even more apparent, aside from a few decals and the make and model on the title, the cars have the same exact engine, transmission, power ect.All turbo models have identical 4G63T engines. Not one is "better" than the other in any way.

2gs Talons and Eclipses are slightly different body wise, but not much enough to really say one looks better than the other.

What is wrong with an Eagle Talon name? Once again, is it not "JDM" enough? Not enough syllables? WTF?

To answer the first question, YES, regardless if it says Talon or Eclipse, for most 99% of the time, whether it's engine parts, exterior parts, ect. they will fit both vehicles.

Ok only you and Lisa Kubo drive Talons.  No your the only ones who can get away with driving Talons because of your coolness.  But when you put those three cars together in what order would you put them?

So whats wrong with a talon if their all the same? Ive done my research any way and you just have to use 97-99' style lighting. And its not that i dont like the eclipse its just why look for a car everybody wants, i just wanted him to widen his search for a car thats all.

The big TALON thing in the back for one.  And the Eclipse is just better looking.  To say that they are identical would make you retarded.

Are you serious? If you truely think one looks significantly better than the other, the only one suffering any illness would be you, buddy.

Most people who I know who drive turbo DSMs have Eagle Talons, the production number was higher than the Eclipse for the 1gs. Frankly, I don't care what the [censored] the name says on it, it's the EXACT same car. Honestly, the only thing that would make me choose one over the other is overall condition and mileage. If they were all brand new cars, sitting in a row for me to pick, honestly it wouldn't matter. But if I HAD to make a choice, I'd probably pick the Talon, the Talons have a slightly different body trim that I like a little more.

Lisa Kubo dosnt drive a Talon.

Yeah, I guess your right that it comes down to opinion. But i did some research because some friends of mine said that eclipses and eagles have an engine problem. And I found out its something called "crank" walk. Anyone have a problem with that?

Crankwalk only plauges 2gs. Honestly, I'd stick with the first gens. They are stronger, come with bigger turbos, lighter, easier to make fast. So what if it dosn't look like a girly-ass second gen, it looks decent enough stock, and if your goal is to go fast for relatively cheap with a turbocharged all wheel drive sports car, the 1g is your best bet.

There's a guy up the road from me who owns a stock 1g DSM AWD and it's red.  It looks pretty good for the year.

If he wanted a girly car why not save some money and buy a Miata.  Eclipses always look good if the paint and body are in good condition.  And they put out a lot of power.  I raced a guy in a 1st gen Eclipse and he smoked me.  He wasn't runnind NO2 and I was spraying my whole bottle.  Must have been putting out 435 out of his engine.  From experience I think people end up with better cars when they mod the Eclipses.  "Talon" just sounds awkward too.
