It's probably possible.  You would have to get customized engine mounts, a new wiring harness and ECU.  And I don't think anyone has done it and I know that in this Scene it's all about being original, but why the J30.  It looks weird.  And I don't think there are any exterior or interior upgrades for it which means more custom items which means a bigger hole in your wallet.  Just pick up a 240 and then swap in the SR.  Much better.

Isn't the J30 FWD?

It's possible with thousands of dollars of custom parts.

no, the infiniti j30 is most definitely RWD! and why would anyone want to swap a sr20 into a j30 its got a vg30de! also there is damn near nothing you can do to modify the j30!

Some one else on this forum also knows that feeling. Not me, of course. I think the J30 is a wierd body style, too. I wonder what they were smoking when they designed that one? I would redo the back end of that ride and redifine what that car should have looked like. My problem? I'm not a body fabricator. LOL! To quote M&M, "We all do what we do best, and we used to it". I took liberty with how I wrote it. You know what I mean, I hope...

and even if you didnt mind what the body looks like!( i happen to like it! its different) the sr20 would be way underpowered for this car! the j30 is a hog of a car! you would have to strip t out totally to get anything good out of it! and you would have to totally tune the sr20 to make it do what you want it to in the j30! the j30 is no s13,14, or 15 it much heavier than those! so anyways dont do it!

I didn't say I hated it, just that it is weird. I would only redo the rear of the car, that's all. You know, correct the junk in the trunk? It's like plastic surgery for cars! LOL! ( DUH... I just realized that it's called body work)

The SR20 can put out a respectable amount of HP but like you said it would have to be built to the hilt to make that body move.

why not grab a vg30dett?  the Z32 is a heavy monster but with the right amount of go-fast parts they move... I mean its wayy more than getting two turbos and slapping them on the sides of the vg30... Id say you'd have a legitimate J30 (VIP im assuming is the direction you'd be going in?) beast for under 3K if you know how to turn a wrench.

Id have a blast with all of the universal parts from junction produce... grab yourself some lowering spring/airbags, piece together an exhaust system, tint the headlights and tint or clear the tails, grab yhourself a mini wangan style wing to take the attention off of the oddly misshapen rear of the car, and focus primarily on redoing your interior with black (preferated?) leather, with junction prduce accents wherever you can put them.

VIP is without a doubt a scene that is making a big slash in the import world here in america fairly recently and I, for one love the look/stance of the VIP cars.  definitly my next project.  I would offer advise on building a race inspired car but there really isnt a point, the lack of aftermarket support coupled with the apparent dislike for the stock body lines wouldnt get you too far in that direction with anyone... but hey, its your car good luck on whatever you plan to do with it

Junction, huh? And VIP? Never heard of them. I must be getting too old for this now. Do they have a site that one could visit? I find all of this very interesting. I get edumicated (wrote it like that on purpose) and I have fun while getting it. Cool!
