i have a question.  a 1932 ford coupe, small car by todays standards, with a 502 pulls 10's in montana at 6500 ft over sea.  the engine is the base line 502 crate making 502 hp and the car pulls 1.3 g's no problem.  it has an interior space comparable to a mini, wheel base of a civic sedan and a push rod v8.  it drifts like no other, yet it nearly gets 19 to the gallon if you keep your foot in check (hard to do).  now is it considered a sport compact car? or a muscle car that just happens to be tiny and a great handler?

doesnt ford also make compact cars and have been doing so since the 1920's.  and muscle cars are traditionaly large, heavy, and bad at handling.  in 1932 the muscle car was not even an idea.  sure there were people modifing there cars, but not matching the same cars to owners ratios since the 1960's.  if the car had a sr20 would it make it an import tuner.  brands and egines dont always determine a cars classification.  so i ask again with out you thinking about it- sport compact or small, well handling muscle car?

I think the muscle era was from the 60's to the 70's.  Is it compact?  Yes it is and it's sporty but sport compact has it's conotation.

I think it is what it is a ricer by the redneck term, small car big power and loud. Now if it is anyother person the would say it is a Muscle Car do to engine size. But if that were the case the V8 supra (drag car) fromJapan would also be considered a muscle car. or would it be just a drag racer and not fall into any line. it is a long winded conversation that most get into fights over. I say its a car and thats it.
