hey guys im new here to the scene and im getting my first car soon and wanted to know what to get. I've only got abot 5,000 bucks to buy a car with but i've located a few cars i would like that are in my range and are in good condition. I keep moving back and forth between a 1999 Mitsubishi Eclipse RS a 1992 Acura Integra and a 1993 or 1988 Nissan 240SX SE. Im sure you guys are tired of this but im not sure what a good drift car would be. Also im going to take training for drifting in this car I buy so dont worry about driving experience so thanks for you time. Also at my local track they offer defense courses and other stuff and im planing on doing that.

I am sure that I am not the guy you wanted your answer from but if you want to Drift, take the acura off your list. waste of time and money. Not a big fan of eclipse so in my mind buy a 240sx www.xat.com, and dont be so one sided if you are going to build something make it work from all angles Drift Drag Time attack then no matter what is going down you have a car for it.

ok first off if you want to drift you will need a rear wheel drive car and that throws the Acura out the bin so that leaves the Eclipse and the 240SX ok the Eclipse RS is an ok car but the GSX is All Wheel Drive and is turbo powered and can be converted to rear wheel drive/RWD 210HP ok the 240SX is an alsome car i have one its RWD and have tons or after market parts and it will fit very well in your budget about 500-1500$ and are good drift cars but for beginners you wouldn't want that much power but you would want a little power the 88 240SX comes with a KA24E Single Over Head cam with 140HP but the 1991-1993 comes with a KA24DE Dual Over Head Cam 155HP 91-93 is good 240SX to add parts to good power maker but if you want more power like I do you should consider installing a SR20DET motor in your car better power maker with an light weight engine block and stock turbo charge and intercooled it comes out of the same kind of car but the engine was only applied in the Japanese 240SX/180SX, S13, S14, S15 or the Nissan Silvias for short but there are many types of SR20DETs to choose from. yo this message is getting to long so for more info just email me at drakegosha1@yahoo.com buy the way All wheel drive cars are not allowed to drift in drift events unless they are converted to rear wheel drive and(I have a 1991 240SX SX Hatch SE)

i have a question do you even know how to drive good regularly. Im not trying to be meen or anything but i hope that you werent planing on buying it and then automaticly go out and start drifting. you have to get used to shifting and the way the car handles and feels before you can start slinging that weight around and not total it like some other morons.

actually I dont got my permit yet. lol. but like I said I have a local track and they offer training courses and defensive driving training besides im not going to have that much money after I buy the car. Im mature enough to know not to do that kind of stuff.
At first when I do get my car me and my dad are going to fix it up together and have something for me and him to do.

I'm actualy new here myself, but I've had a wide range of cars including front wheel, rear wheel, and all wheel drive cars. You said you wanted to drift. Well the perfect car in my opinion is a 240SX with the SR20DET, I'm currently on my 2nd 240SX, the first one can now fit into a shoe box probably, some 18wheeler smashed into me and crushed me into another car. R.I.P. '95 Nissan 240SX. lol. well I currently have a '90 Nissan 240SX(stock) but I'm fixin to start workink on it. Now I'm not an expert on cars, but the best way I've learned to work on cars is just by messing with them.

Hey man, I'm with you. I have only been driving for about 6 months and hope to get my license next month. I would love to take drifting courses, if only i could find a track around here somewhere.

you have alot to learn before you even start to think you can drift. if you have to ask what car out of an eclipse, an integra or 240 would be best for drifting, you should start reading up. start with memorizing which pedal is the gas and which one is the brake. good lucj, and go for the 240, i love mine.

Austin , are you [censored] kidding me? Memorize which pedal is gas and which is brake? What do you think he is a retard? Jesus Christ.
Ok the 240 is your best shot. It has a good range of aftermarket parts and have dedicated followers you could get useful tips, however they do require more upkeep than an average car so expect to get a job to support your car. The Scattareggia

it does sound stupid, but so does this kid. what car would be best for drifting? and integra an eclpise or a 240, he doesnt know [censored] about it. i agree when you say you have to look out when looking to buy a 240. someone could have run it into the ground pretty good. i just dont understand why you keep saying that it rewuires so much more upkeep? and yes, a job would help.

Anyone who has driven in a car before could see which is the brake, gas or clutch pedal. You should have said research the engines and see what fits your price range. Then call companies about what parts they have for the enging he chose and ask which ones are better for...drifting.
