We can go on all day, weeks, or even months about this so I'm going to end it right now.
First, you said that my motor was pushing 148 max HP. Last time I checked it was 154HP. I have a 2004 Ford Ranger. The 04' and current Rangers 3.0L gained 6 more HP because of a new composite intake manifold.
Second, I came across a SRT-4 at a red light tonight so I decided to take it on. Guess what? I got spanked. He made my truck feel like I got nothing even w/ the supercharger. He was just toying w/ me the whole time.
Third, I now see zeroscail the SRT-4 is for real. You were right the whole time I just had to learn the hard way and that's the way I chose to learn. It defiently lives up to the hype. Very Impressive. I just had to see it to believe it.
Fourth, what more can I say, I'm conveinced. The SRT-4 is not a "Rice Burner" how about "Pocket Rocket" thats what I will call it.
Last, I've had it w/ trucks. I'm going to buy me a SRT-4 now. Hey, if you can't beat'em, join'em.
In the end zeroscail you W-I-N.
BTW SRT-4 stands for: Street-Racing-Technology w/ the 4 meaning 4cyclinders. Now I did research that one. ![]()
I'm out

I think Dodge sold it's stock in Mitsubishi.

Glad to see that one cleared up Hey...try dropping your tailgate when you run to make it more aerodynamic...should help your time a little. I can see you going places with that thing if you keep it up. 15's not bad for a truck. ![]()
Dodge does't own mitsu, but they're still strategic partners. You've read about the new World engine right?

Thanks, I will try that. I was looking into getting a Hard Top Tonneau Cover w/ a spoiler wing. There talkin' about $600.00+ for the damn thing. Why so expensive, I ask. He said, "Well for one its a gas saver". So I told the him for that kind of money it better come painted too. He replied, it does. Whew...
Well I'm just going to "Thrash" the trash talk in here.
As for the Dodge owning Mitsubishi. I do recall that some time ago that Chrysler Corp. did acquire some of Mitsubishi's shares as Mitsubishi's acquire some of Hyundia's. That probably explains the borrowed Mitsubishi engines that were used to power the Chrysler Sebring, Eagle Talon, Dodge Stratus/Breeze(Plymouth version), Dodge Neon, and probably some more that I didn't name. But I don't know about if Chrysler Corp. owns Mitsubishi now. I will research it and find out more about it.
What do you guys think of Hondas new Civic SI? Is it a threat.
8000RPM red-line??????? Thats almost like a motorcycle on steriods.
BTW just curious. At what RPM's do you guys shift at? Me I try to go no higher than 3,000 when I'm doing my daily commute.

I think the new Honda Civic Si should be available in a four door. So anyway the Civic Si would not make a good drag car for the 1/4 mile. I just don't see the point but maybe in a grip drive course it might rock.

i actualy watched a deal on trucks putting down their tail gate to save gas ect.. it actualy makes it worse, the air that travels over your cab makes something like a little cyclone in your truck bed actualy pushin you a little bit, when the tail gate is dropped you loose the air that circles in your bed, slowing you down... as for the new civics, i personaly think the have potential to be a threat, coming from the factory rated at 197hp..thats not bad for a n/a i4..id like to know what its pushin at the wheels...
and i have checked out the new world engines, there insane, spousta get something like a million miles of life? thats just wild..allthough i think the new calliber is kina lame itself...

Im happy, u guys all got ur crap cleared up, but man dude, u dont have to run ur mouth before u no the facts. and Maybe u do beat a few hondas every now and then. but then again dont they have the rap for being like the most riced out all the time. if someone took a lot of time and effort and a little buit of cash and put it into those cars, they are stinkin fast, not to mention light, too. http://www.panekmechanik.com/Videos/Petes%20ITR.wmv heres an insane video of a sweet acura, i wasnt to sure how to copy and paste the video, but newyas check it out, i think ude be suprised, and the guy is running high 12's, for a street car with street wheels thats impressive considering he spins out the whole time. http://www.panekmechanik.com/Videos/Watkins%20Glen%20Sept%2027th.wmv and heres another video of a civic on a track and he just flys throught the course and pases everything. newys peace out.

i would like to add a little side note on power to weight ratios and how they can and cannot show fast a car is. the mini has the same power to weight ratio as a c5 vette. 1hp to 100lbs. yet i have never seen a mini take a vette. i have seen a turbo 300 strt six ford f-250 extended cab 4wd truck take a mustang gt. power is trully measured with the torque. any one who says other wise is an idiot. all hp is is the rate at which you move the torque. torque has a constant of maxing out in the mid 5 rpms. hp can max out way over that because you then turn less torque at a faster speed. this is why a f-1 car spinning super sonic rpms has super high hp. dont get me wrong they still have gobs of torque, they just take advantage of high revs to compensate for the declining torque curve. also, has any seen the europe racing league of semis. these are semis that tip the scales over 4 tons and yet they run on the small side of ten second 1/4s. this is because A) enough torque to spin a contact patch the size that is measured in sqr meters not centimeters and B) they max out rpms at the torque max. ask any pro racer and they will tell you this is the dream spot when it comes to shifting. it means a very constant pull from torque. and i know they can pull a faster lap time than any evo, mustang, or any other car in here. they came with in hundreths of having the same lap time at the nuremburg as the twint turbo porche that holds the record (f- race cars excluded). deisel engines are going to be the way of the future. ask audi and their next championship winning car. check it out.
