For the past 5 years I have loved drifting. I always told myself that I was gonna get a GT-s or an S13. It ended up that i was givin a 2000 Camry from a family member. I'm not complaining, it's a great car, but the auto tranny and fwd setup wasn't what I've been dreaming about for the 4 years before it. I decided to go my own way after my lost love for Hondas came back I starting having fun with the Camry. I did the basics: slapped an Injen intake, weld-on muffler (sounds realy good), eBay strut bar, clear corners, a/t shift knob, and 17" Konigs on Kumos. I was happy with it til i took it to the track (LVMS) and ran a 19.2 @ 76mph, it was kinda sad mostly because I (randomly) raced a 12 sec b18 turbo EG . I did some research on turbos for the 5S-FE, my engine, and not many have done a effective/reliable/safe install, and was very ecpensive ($5k w/o electronics). RIPP Mods has a full supercharger kit, headers, and hi-flo cat for $4k that i was looking into. Then it hit me, engine swap! I always wanted a GT-S with a 20v swap, why not keep the engine in a fwd car? Id have a good engine with a nice torque curve and if possible drop in the 6spd tranny.
I want opinions on my idea. Thanks.
