I think the problem is the kids who put an intake and exhaust on a car and think its fast. These are the real tool bags. As much as I hate rice burners, if the car is actually fast and handles well I can give it some degree of respect. On the same token, if I raced a Honda and got beat I would have to put a match in my gas tank. I drive a 96 volvo with a turbo in it. Make fun all you want but I would bet big money that it would outrun and (with me behind the wheel) outhandle any of the little shitboxes running around these days. Anybody near Lexington Kentucky want to take my bet let me know and we can see if I can back up my words. On another topic, I was reading the recent super street and it mentioned something about an old fat guy with a hawiaan shirt who reads "Hot Rod" magazine. What a low blow. The old 40's through 70's cars have 99 times the style of the newer imports. My suggestion is to have a shootout between reader's rides of super street vs hot rod readers. Also, super street magazine should race against hot rod magazine, as they both build up project cars. Old school hawiaan shirt old guy vs japanese/import new school. Settle the score once and for all.

I don't know if you've been paying attention to some of the builds that involve Toyota JZ engines and Nissan with their RB engines! Check out some of their numbers and do the math. I have an RB that I built with well over 650hp at the crank. I'm not really saying what it is at this point... got to keep my secrets mine for now. Dig? Any way, I know that some horses gets lost in translation to the wheels but, come on, lets be real. All that power and a lighter than average chassis... equals some mighty impressive results. Old classic muscle is pretty cool, I'll admit, but performance wise... I don't know! We'll just have to wait and see, won't we?

Could've been a young, wet behind the ears, pimple faced, uneducated kid who thought that putting stickers that said SI on it would make his car fast. That 5.0L explorer is pretty powerful with stock trim. Heavy, but powerful... I worked on a lot of those explorers, too. I was not very impressed with the quality, though the engine is a keeper. That was one of the very few engines that ford made that impressed the hell out of me! The newer stuff is not any good, in my oppinion. Too many electrical issues and what's with that mechatronic transmission. Can't tell you how many of those I replaced. No, Ford certainly has a lot to fix before they get my vote again. That's why Toyota took their 2nd place standing in national sales. A position that ford has had since the 30s!!! Go figure...!!!

Thats [censored] up. I try and post a decent argument and just get insults hurled at me. Should have seen it coming. Oh well. Supra MKIII, are you saying there are stock civics running lower than 11s? I dont get your argument. Im not saying there are stock domestics running that fast
He probally thought it was the 1/4 and it was actually the 1/8 thats the only way i could see a stock civic run 11 or lower and that would be pushin it

Who is Supra MKIII, and I surely didn't insult you... at least I think I didn't... All I said was that Ford has not impressed me with their lack of quality as of the past 10 years. And to comment on civics running under 11sec... I'm sure that they exsist, but how reliable are they on the street? It couldn't be coming from a daily driver! I'm with Cuda1 on this one!

Who is SupraMKIII? And I surely didn't insult you. Did I? At least, I think I didn't... Did I, Cuda1? I only commented about how Fords quality sucked as of the past 10 years... BUT, I am in agreeance with you on this "under 11sec." civic! I'm sure they exsist on track, but how reliable a ride is it on the street. It couldn't be a daily driver! For those kind of times, there must have been a lot of money invested... and if so why risk it on the street! Again, if it is a daily driver as well.

i think this idiot got confused from watching top fuel cars.
he probably thought those were stock hemisphreaical head motors................ not the case there dumbfuck. *** if you can run 6's in a *** chevy s10 ill be all over that ***
dude a 2 bolt main, pieace of *** cast iron head, cast crankshaft (sorry srt-4s you got that too, but a better alloy than that of the old ass 350's), *** bearing, 8 bolt rear end in a "2500 lb" (bullshit number they are closer to 3500-4500) s10 isnt going to go anywhere reliably...........thanks for talking *** on a civic
forged cranked, all aluminum, ductile iron sleeved, over head cam, (unlike that old ass overhead valve motor you know what that means? hell i bet most of you don't means his cam is in the block and it uses push rods and a rocker arm assembly to manipulate the valves), not to motherfucking mention that honda prelude bearings are used in nascar 350's
no they are not old 350's from a junkyard there idiot, they are newly cast, and the mains are machined to accept the 2.2L h series honda bearing *** face, the rest of the parts are one-off.

WTF is every one getting so loud and pissy about! Is it apples to oranges that we're talking about here?! Who the *** cares about those figures when import inline 6 engines rule the horse power game! AAANND if the transmission is geared correctly to utilize the torque given by the engine then... where's the problem. Too many numbers are given and weight is not being factored in... Some one needs to crunch some numbers more efficiently before spitting out supposed facts. You can not compare what a 4 banger puts out compared to a 6cyl engine!
