GM- L98, LT1, LT4, LT5 (DOHC), LS1,LS2,LS6, Quad4- (around 200hp four cylinder, distributorless ignition system, developed in 1980s.) old school small block chevys, the 3.8 Liter turbo (found in Grand Nationals, turbo charged and intercooled MPI developed in early 1980s) and 3.8L 3800 series 2, the new straight six found in the Trailblazer.....
Ford- 289, 302, 351W, 351C, the near invincible 300ci straight 6, the supercharged 4.6L found in the 03 Cobra, the 2.3L four cylinder found in Merkur XR4TI, Ford Thunderbird Turbocoupe, and Mustang SVO....
Chrysler- 318, 340, 360, 383, 413wedge, the insane 426 hemi, the new 5.7L hemi, the SRT-4 engine (turbo four that anhialates all other FWD sport compacts in it's class, thanks much), the 2.2L turbo four found in Daytona, Omni GLHS (fast sport compact before sport compacts were even popular).....
Some of these engines are more reliable than others, but most are known for excellent quality and power. You are a tool my friend, and it shows even through your silly little thread.

LOL jay dee em girl, you are too full of the elitist attitude. your [censored] does not smell any better than anyone elses.
onto subject, its no secret that the domestic companies are struggling. there's an entire world of explanation on how they got into the mess; if you research you will find an interesting story or two. one thing is for certain though, if general motors were to go under today, it would take the nations economy with it. that is a certainty. so don't root too hard against them
i see ford and chrystler making some large strides the last few years, and i hope they keep it up. gm, well lets just say the management needs to save itsself from itsself in order to have any real chance of a turnaround.

gm needs to put more money back into cars, and less money into trucks. with the rise in gas prices, few are willing to buy trucks and suv's anymore. there are something like one million trucks for sale right now, all of which are gm. that is cause no one can afford the mileage anymore. it's sad really, that a one time giant in the auto industry now has to bow down so low. kinda puts them in their place though.

First of all. american cars to not suck. Secondly with gas prices going up and chevy making big trucks is not real bad. Think about it for a second, did chevy know that asia was going to rasie gas prices. No , so what every one is buying at the dealer was made before the prices changed. Also a good little wote I know I was always told from people. Hear it goes, I have a acura integra 1998, it is not an american car but I love it. I also Like japan cars. But the story goes by If im going to build a house And I have a car, how in the hell im I going to bring lumber home in my car. That is why chevy makes big trucks. If you know you need it done for mantaince then buy a trucks. IF nothing is going to be done buy a honda s2000, differnt vechiles are built for differnt purposes. I know that japan does not build trucks, inless your talking about toyata. IF your going to get a car get japan, if your going to get a truck get american. The story ends by saying wait till next year when gas goes down, and all of those people that sold there trucks want them back. Ps. gas never says the same so you really don't now what is going to be more afordable. Also japaneese cars are better than american cars because they wait and let someone from the company drive it for a few months and find the problems and then if it pases then they put it on the market. American cars they road test and sell and guess what more recalls not so good. That is why you may think that american cars suck.

sadly though, the price of oil will continue to rise. its not a matter of "next year." oil prices will rise until the gov't outright tells OPEC to quit raising prices. Another option is opening up oil fields in AK, etc. Both options probably won't happen though, cause our dear ol' president is an oil tycoon and is getting richer every single time oil prices rise by a penny. I don't think we'll see gas prices lower anytime in the next three to five years. They may level off, but they're not going to lower anytime soon.
Sorry to be an economist, but its the truth. As for me and my 4-banger, we realize it could be worse.

i know i am not trying to be mean. man hell yeah i wish my girl would race. yeah she will go with me but after a half-hour she wants to go home. d*mn wemon. but oil is from the middle east. that is why it is so high if we tap into the our oil and stop buying there oil the terroist will take it over and then no gas at all because our gas will only last 6 months. make sense? and hey my car will be fixed soon enogh

well, if we opened the alaskan pipeline again, we could live on our own oil for quite a few generations. green peace does not want us doing it, cause they think it will harm the mating of animals and crap. funny thing is, when the pipeline was open originally, animals mated more, cause the ground and surrounding area was much warmer, and more hospitible to animals and stuff. plants grew more too, but the tree huggers don't want to hear that. they are the ones that protest off shore oil rigs in diesel boats. redundant as hell aint it?
