GM- L98, LT1, LT4, LT5 (DOHC), LS1,LS2,LS6, Quad4- (around 200hp four cylinder, distributorless ignition system, developed in 1980s.) old school small block chevys, the 3.8 Liter turbo (found in Grand Nationals, turbo charged and intercooled MPI developed in early 1980s) and 3.8L 3800 series 2, the new straight six found in the Trailblazer.....

Ford- 289, 302, 351W, 351C, the near invincible 300ci straight 6, the supercharged 4.6L found in the 03 Cobra, the 2.3L four cylinder found in Merkur XR4TI, Ford Thunderbird Turbocoupe, and Mustang SVO....

Chrysler- 318, 340, 360, 383, 413wedge, the insane 426 hemi, the new 5.7L hemi, the SRT-4 engine (turbo four that anhialates all other FWD sport compacts in it's class, thanks much), the 2.2L turbo four found in Daytona, Omni GLHS (fast sport compact before sport compacts were even popular).....

Some of these engines are more reliable than others, but most are known for excellent quality and power. You are a tool my friend, and it shows even through your silly little thread.

Thats what I like to see.
GNX and Modern Day 2.4L Turbo found in the SRT-4 should be enough proof that the american market Knows what they are doing.
A car is as reliable as you make it. Treat your car well and it will treat you well, no matter what the make is.

Now one thing I will give you is Imports know how to Jazz up a interior. MY GOD ask any magazine doing a testing that involves teh SRT-4 and the RSX Type S..... The SRT-4 always destroys the competetion in performance, and every aspect of performance, but the RXS's interior and smooth ride make up for it (maybe if the SRT-4 was bumped from 230HP to crappy N/A import numbers the ride would feel more numb). With Domestics you get no joke power. No High revving, angry bee sounding, torque lacking, award winning interior..
What you get is neck breaking power, and lots of it. The new SRT-8 Charger goes from 0-100 and back to 0 in 16 seconds .... that is power.
The day Honda grows a pair and goes F/I on their Si, the day Toyota comes out with some sort of a sporty car, the day nissan can get their 30K sports car to compete with the 4dr turbo Neon, the day Mazda remmebers what made the rx-7 so awesome, thats the day you can even begin to mention imports in any sort of a quality comparison...

haha, AMEN! In my driveway there is a 1988 Celica GT and a 1978 Pontiac Trans Am. As a guy with straight gasoline in his veins, I like nearly everything with wheels. Unfortunately some ignorant people cant look past the continent thier car was built on, or produce any logical argument why. Hot rodding started in the US all the way back in the 30s. Drag racing was born here. Even if you dont like US cars you at least need to acknowledge your roots. As for a lack of "technology" in domestic vehicles, we've been doin it since the 1960s Chevy Corvair Corsa. A turbo charged flat 4, rear engined, with 4 wheel independent suspension. Of course theres the GNX and all the crazy little turbo cars Dodge built in the 80s and early 90s. Go look up a spec sheet on the new Z06. Speaking of Vettes, they had disc brakes and fuel injection in the 50s. As for current domestic car manufacturers, I do have to say im extremely disappointed. Especially in GM. After all the cool [censored] theyve killed, I dont know if i'll ever support them by buying a new car from them. Dodge is dropping the Neon (and SRT4) for some cute-ute. And i've never liked Ford, but they need to exist so Dodge and Chevy can have someone to beat on if the muscle car segment ever picks back up. Damn you OPEC. Now that Japan has found out how to build "american" cars, the US needs to step up. As for truck production, its a mixed bag. Trucks will always be needed, you cant haul a few tons of steel with a Corolla. Okay, so ends the longest *** post ever.
