I am trying to modify my 1987 Nissan 300zx Turbo, but need help. I was wondering if there was anybody that would be willing to sponsor me. I am willing to go to car shows here in Florida, and to NOPI in Atlanta. The car needs a little bit of body work before I'd show it, but it is a nice car. I am willing to wear stickers on my car (size depends on amount of sponsorship) and clothing on myself/teammates. I am part of a newly started car club called T.A.G-Turbo Automotive Group. I have a list of modifications that I am planning for my car (too long to post-very specific). Please e-mail me at SinfulSilvias@aol.com, and I can e-mail you my list and a photo of my car (I only have one as of now, but will get more later). Thank you.

If you're asking for Super Street to sponsor you, it's not going to happen. We don't sponsor anybody. I suggest you contact all our advertisers in the magazine. Call them, e-mail them, or snail-mail them with proposals to get sponsored. That's the best way to do it.

I know that you guys don't sponsor. I just figured that somebody that reads this forum would be able to help me out. I wasn't sure what section to put it in. Thanks.

No, no one will ever sponsor a project car from someone. Unless you try to get carsponsorships.com to do the work for you if you get lucky, but most likely you will get scammed.
If you actually get the car done first, you may get a sponsorship.

Then the sponsorship would be completely useless.

That's how the system works. No company will take on a stock car and build it. They have no incentive to do that. Usually, a car that's already established with parts and show the most potential in 1. winning car shows, 2. getting featured in a magazine, and 3. getting pooped on by birds are the ones that will get sponsored.

Well you can take advantage of them paying your expenses going to shows.
I.E Jay Laub. Take a good look of what the guy has done and take notes. Now he has a 2 car trailer from McDonalds.

Like I said, then the sponsorship would be completely useless. If your car is already done, then why would you need to get free parts for advertising for the companies??

conversely, why would any company give away free stuff to a po-dunk old car for no reason at all other than the owner being "willing" to go to car shows? you need to EARN it. then maybe if you were a real player in hte industry they might sponsor you on a rebuild or your next car.
it sounds to me like you're just looking for free stuff.

He!! yeah I'm looking for free stuff, who isn't? I work my ass off for everything I have, so don't call me a lazy ass. I'm tired of seeing little kids running around in their parent's Civics with fart-can mufflers and thousands of dollars of upgrades while thier making minimum wage bagging groceries. I'm also tired of seeing richass punks driving around in their brand new WRX's with mods to boot. Oh, and this 18 year old po-dunk old car had only 100 less horsepower that an '04 STI from the factory. I don't care about trying for a sponsorship anymore, I'm getting my *** done myself.

I also forgot to mention that my car makes this 200 horsepower from a non-intercooled 5 PSI. How much boost does the WRX have? Isn't it somewhere around 15, with an I/C? Let me get my hands on a frontmount, and crank the boost up to 15, I'll garuntee that it'll get more than 300 hp.
