OK I need some major help. I have a 92 Prelude auto is has a H22 head with H23 block bored out to a 2.5l with 12.5:1 comp(cp pistons, crower billet H-Beam rods, ARP head bolts and was sleeved by Golden Eagle) and a full port and polish head job(all skunk2 valve train). The motor also has Intake, header, 2.5in exhaust, cam gears and pulleys with a 50 shot of nitrous. I bought the JDM ecu for the h22 auto so i have vtec that will come on. I have also bought a greddy emanage comp to help tune the car. Here comes the problem. This motor has been being built for a year and a half and finally the motor is in the car and running, BUT it runs like crap and i dont know what is needed to be done to solve the problem. We have tried other ecu but none of which work. This is my first car i have had for 6 years. It is my baby but since the old motor blew up i have gotten married and have twins now and i am a full time student so i dont have a lot of money tp spend but i want it back and running so bad i know it has tons of potential. PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!! I am a loyal reader of every issue since i bought my car in 2000 and it kills me to see it just sitting there.

Theres so many things that could be wrong.. I dont know where to start, either the engine wasnt out togther correct, or the ecu maps are completly wrong for your engines air flow dynamics  Have you tried getting it tuned?  Are there any check engine lights?

The person doing to motor is chuck seitsinger at alternative motorsports in okc, ok so i believe that it got put together right. The car has been attempted to be tuned by a guy from dallas that supposedly tunes his drag car. there is a check engine light but he told me that the light was some code that wasnt a big deal and shouldnt affect the way the car is running. The car idles funny when it is cold but after it warms up it is ok. When driving it the car bogs down not bad off the line but once it gets going at full throttle it is fine, but at an cruising speed it is jerky.

Could be electrical, just fixed a prob like that on my truck ended up being a plug wire shorting to my header!. anyways, do you get any codes? also check plugs, wires, coil and grounds. and sensors My car ran like crap and it was caused by sensors that controlled feul & spark timeing!

I would check to see what the codes are first.  That would be a good starting point.
