You came to the wrong place for psychological help.  But cars we can help you with.  The Supra is a very good choice but also a very costly choice.  Your looking at 18k minimum for a 1993 Supra, with mileage ranging from 900 miles to 200,000 miles.  So what I would suggest is to maybe choose a different car.  I'm not saying give up on the Supra all together.  Just get it later in life when you have the money.  Look into a 240SX, Civic, Integra or maybe an Accord.  They are inexpensive to find used for under 10k.  They also all have a large product backing for both their engines and bodies for reasonable prices.  You learn how to drive, undertsand how engines work, maybe even work on one yourself, then save up for your Supra.  Then when you get it  you will have the experience both behind the wheel and under the hood.

Oh and for your other question.  I like The Fast and The Furious  series but when your an impressionable young child you shouldn't make the decision that you want to street race.  Stop watching those movies till your older.  Then when your in high school and actually have a future you can risk it by racing illegally on the street like me.

Don't worry about street racing right now.  Just figure out what car you want to get and what the best engine for it is.  Then map out a plan for your engine, budgeting your money efficiently so that you get the most "bang for your buck" .  Sop asking difficult questions like this too.

If you're able to find a stock supra by the time you 16 good luck. Try looking in to a Chaser; it's the same chase and engine plate form as the Supra. You can only import the chaser.

lol you wont find a supra so try chasing a chaser down from halfway around the world.  LOL.

first things first you are going to need to learn how to drive.  i dont mean just how to follow the traffic laws, but how to DRIVE.  a supra is big and heavy, and not that easy to learn on.

if you really want a rwd japanese car i would look into a 240sx instead. its less powerful, lighter, and will be not only easier to drive but also easier to learn on.  also, it will be cheaper.

and remember, street racing is for *** and delinquents

I agree with the 240sx idea it is easier for a rookie plus when ug et ready for more power you can always swap the four banger (SR20DET or KA24DE) for a RB26DETT. But so know the chaser and supra aren't even close to the same thing. One the Chaser has a 1JZ-GTE and the Supra has  2JZ-GTE motor. Secondly the platforms are differnt, on a side note I wanna know where the guy with the chaser idea got his info from its rediculous. Not to mention its a left hand drive car that you have to import it would be mroe expensive and difficult to drive then a supra. But good choice tho on the Supra there great cars but so you know you were talking about a 91-93 supra price well 86.5-92 and 93-98 supras are completely differnt, nothing alike except the name howere an MKIII (86.5-92) would be a great starter there fast, fun, and easier to drive then an MKIV (93-98) trust me I know I had an MKIII and I now own an MKIV.

Good advice. When you're first learning how to drive, it's not such a smart idea to put yourself in a car which has more power than you have skill. Buy a car that is affordable and can grow with you becase when you're first learning how to drive, it's pretty much inevitable for you to have an accident or two. But, hey, it's a learning experience.

That being said, have you even considered the price of car insurance? For a Supra, I'd start saving my lunch money.

Also, I'm curious how you got to picking a 1991-1993 Supra. Those years are right in the middle of two generations. 3rd gen Supras (1988-1991)are pretty cheap and easy to find, while 4th gen (1993-1998) are harder to get. They retain their value well, partly because there's a continued demand for them. Either way you decide, just do your research well and be realistic. Good luck!

I agree completely with every one on this, except that I wouldn't get a car that eventually will get crashed due to lack of experience. Especially a 240sx. That is a fun platform to tune and build and if you can't contain the racing bug, you'll find that if you have the car and build it to suite, you will essentially crash and spend a lot to fix it again. And at your age and the way the economy is, and will be for a long time... money will be extremely tight. Get a beater car and learn to really drive, like some one else told you to, and learn the dos and don'ts of the road and the track. A young driver in any car is just a mindless projectile when you've lost control of it.  OUCH! No offense meant.

err dont start racing till about a year behind the wheel, till then... you really dont know much on handling and the tricks of driving, specialy if its a manual car and if your GOING to race, thats the way to go, start by getting like a civic or something and drive the hell out of it, like  just go through the gears slowly at first then start picking up speed on a CONTROLED enviroment. not the streets, that will just get you a ticket... also keep in mind, that in a city or town, when you start to tune a car, its harder and harder to just break into the night and vanish when you have to run from cops, cause,....its harder to spot a civic with minimal body work then to try and find a tuned out supra while moving through traffic, oh and also.... NEVER EVER EVER!!! race on the highway or on an interstate, you will LOSE your car permanatly.... >.>

I would say at least 4 before getting hooked on speed. practice makes perfect and a year behind the wheel for a complete nooby doesn't make a good driver. It makes a better driver but not a good one. Noobys still lack experience and that is one thing you get over a long period of time. I'm not saying that he not practice, though. Again, practice makes perfect. As long as it's on the track and not the streets. I may sound like a preacher but after seeing what happens to street racers and the people who watch these events, it's hard not to notice the dangers. Often it's teens with no real experience that end up crashing and giving the life style a bad rep. Like it or not it is a life style and every time the law makers get wind of street racing and the type of cars involved they make it that much harder because of those inexperienced street racers. All the more mature and level headed racers go to the track, period!

What i wouldnt do for a supra. Dude, i wanted to race cars since i knew what cars were. i was the kid who had 3000 matchboxes, 5 remote control cars, one of those electric monster trucks, and even the bike with training wheels and the flame decals on it, because they made it go faster of course. because your 13, you only got 2 years yet till you can get a learners permit, or restricted license, or whatever it is where your from. 91-93 supra? good luck. any supra period? good luck. with "luck" unsurprisingly being a bad thing to rely on, i suggest, like these other buttsheets, to get something cheap and reliable. Not cutting you down, but its not a good idea for a new driver to get something too fast. the biggest problem, which may or may not be news to you, is that your insurance will cost more than the million-dollar-man's boob job. so unless your makin more bacon than my grandma on christmas eve, get whatever rocks your style and is for the cheap.

I know, i know, im one sexy dude!

I like the verbalage. It makes the day that much more interesting when the choice of words are colorful, yet kosher enough, for the whole family to read. Well put, brother!

I'm 17 and I started with a Civic and I'm going to end with one even though I have always wanted to own a Nissan Skyline and like this kid a Supra, but I know they are way too much money and I should just stick to something that I can handle and afford for now...
