which would be faster. a 4 cylynder with a turbo kit, and nos, flow master exhaust. or a v6 with a super charger, cold air intake, nos, and flow master eaxhaust.....this is for a chevrolet cavalier for those of you who wanna know

Are the cars the same year? My initial thoughts would be a bigger engine can create more power, but there are alot of variables. A big turbo on a 4 cylinder could produce more power than a super charged 6 cylinder. Have you conisidered turboing the 6 cylinder?
Are you planning on runing the same shot of nitrous on both engines?
Alot also depends on the make up of the enigne, I dont know the specifics of either engine, but I would assume that the 6 cylinder is a lower compression than the 4 cylinder. This should be taken into consideration. Are you planning on upgrading the internals at all?
There are a lot of questions and info that needs to be addressed before you can make a sound desicion. keep us updated, we will try to help as much as possible.

well i have searched and searched and cant find a turbo kit for a v6 engine i would def. consider putting a turbo kit in the v6 if i could find one and yes the cars are the same year make and model anyway if anyone knows where i can find a turbo kit for a v6 engine on a chevy cavalier let me know

if all else fails you can build a custom turbo kit, or have someone build you one. Not the easiest or cheapest route but a turbo v6 is better than a supercharged v6 ![]()

you would more than likely have to piece on together. but doing some searching, I found these, I dont know what year your car is.

okay i hate to dissapoint everyone but im not getting the cavalier im gonna get the cobalt ss and throw a turbo kit in it sorr if i wasted anyone's time thanks for the pointers though

what benefit could you possibly achieve by removing the oem supercharger form the cobalt ss and replacing with a turbo? just by the (warrantied) hp upgrades from gm.
as for the original posters question, thats way to vauge. too many variable, especially when you have not even picked two actual cars to compare.

im getting the ss without the supercharger the 2.4L engine the ss has an option with or without the supercharger

Uh I can't swear to it but i'm pretty sure the cobalt has a 2.2L Ecotec motor not a 2.4L. Anyways though i wouldn't go with a cobalt my friend has one and its really a peice of *** also if you want a domestic compact go with a SRT-4, they're faster, better handling and Mopar makes 3 fabulous turbo upgrade kits for it. But its up too you to choose its your car your money and you have to live with it so do what you want but if you have to go chevy i'd recomend a cavy over the cobalt, better handling and price are the upsides to it, plus with a 2.4L you can put a Garrette GT35R on it and make some serious power, the kinda power that puts STi's to shame.

a cadavalier does NOT handle better than its replacement. if there was ever a worse starting point to mod than some old j-body, i really don't know what it could be.

2005 Introduction of Cobalt Coupe and Sedan
2006 A non-supercharged Cobalt SS is added to the lineup. This car is equipped with a 2.4 Ecotec naturally aspirated inline-4.
2007 Both Ecotec motors were retuned for more power while retaining the same fuel economy. The 2.2 Ecotec now is rated at 148 net horsepower. The 2.4 Ecotec now is rated at 175 net horsepower. Other changes include a new console, new steering wheel and new radio head unit that features an MP3 Aux-In port.
