what does a good first car entail for you?  Are you looking for a car that has alot of aftermarket support for a descent price?  Or are you looking for a car that you make run 12's for pretty cheap?

yeah, ask yourself whether you'd have more fun drag racing or taking hard turns.

well i dont want to spend all my money on the car because i want to have some left over for after market parts but somewhere between 3000-6000 right now. im think im probably going to go with a 1992+ 240sx unless anyone can think of a better choice

yeah a 240sx is a pretty solid choice if you can find one in descent shape.  , do you want it to be rear wheel drive?  maybe a miata or also a corrado.

I had a 240sx and I would highly recommend this car. Not fast enough to get you in trouble, but enough to be fun!
